Sound knowledge for the skilled workers of tomorrow

Research and development in Region Leipzig: practical training is the most important foundation.

With one Helmholtz research centre, one university, two Fraunhofer Institutes, three Max Planck Institutes, nine higher education institutions and a wide variety of non-university research institutions, Region Leipzig's strength in research and development is impressive and is an important pillar of the economic region.

The University of Leipzig alone has already collaborated on more than 500 projects with business partners in order to make research outcomes a practical reality as quickly as possible. Whether molecular and cellular communication, the environment, diseases or new measures for combating common illnesses such as allergies, obesity and diabetes, Leipzig's fields of research are varied, practical and future-oriented.
